Building Healthier Communities

The Challenge: Health Access in Rural Assam
In many parts of rural Assam, access to proper healthcare and sanitation facilities remains limited. As detailed in our annual reports, Golap Konmai Mission has established comprehensive programs to address these critical needs.
Mother & Child Health Initiatives
Our dedicated maternal and child health programs have been a cornerstone of our community impact:
Health Awareness Camps: On September 14, 2022, we conducted a comprehensive health awareness camp where medical professionals provided free checkups and valuable health education.
Prevention-First Approach: Participants received guidance on cleanliness, sanitation, and preventive healthcare measures specifically designed for mothers and children.
Resource Distribution: Essential medicines and vitamin supplements were distributed to attendees, supporting nutritional needs of vulnerable families.
Public Sanitation Revolution
According to global health statistics, 2.6 billion people worldwide lack adequate sanitation facilities. Our response:
Public Toilet Construction: In November 2022, we built multiple public sanitation units in communities with limited access.
Community Education: Beyond infrastructure, we've conducted workshops on proper sanitation practices and hygiene maintenance.
Long-Term Impact: These facilities reduce waterborne diseases while preserving dignity and safety, particularly for women and children.
Technology Skills for Rural Youth
Bridging the digital divide is essential for community development:
Computer Training Programs: In July 2022, we conducted specialized training for 20+ rural youths in computer operations and repair.
Practical Skills Focus: Our curriculum emphasizes marketable technical skills that create immediate employment opportunities.
Mobile Repair Training: Additional courses in mobile phone repair help youth capitalize on the growing telecommunications market.
Financial Commitment
In 2022-2023, we allocated significant resources to these programs:
